School Nurse

New Story is currently accepting resumes for the position of School Nurse.

The Nurse is responsible for overseeing and implementing the health program in the school programs. The Nurse focuses on the needs of both the individual student and program setting. The Nurse is responsible for the delivery of health services including the medication management program and advocating for the health rights of children. This includes but is not limited to:

  • • Provide first aid care as needed and document appropriately.
  • • Manage medical emergencies and communicate with family members, emergency medical personnel, and/or the child’s physician regarding the event of the medical emergency.
  • • Collect and ensure medical history, physical exams and vaccinations are current for all students.
  • • Collaborate with personnel, families, and other members of the team to develop an Individualized Health Plan consistent with the needs specific medical needs of the child.
  • • Administer prescribed medications and monitor the effectiveness of the medication.
  • • Ensure corresponding physician orders are on file for prescribed medications.
  • • Track monthly medication administration and reports of medication errors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Work Experience:
Employee must have a minimum of one year experience providing nursing services to children.

Special Education Teacher

New Story is currently accepting resumes for the position of Special Education Teacher for the 2017-18 school year.
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing, maintaining, and documenting all instructional and behavioral programs within the school setting. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing classroom dynamics and functioning of all staff within their classroom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A four year degree from a college or university and one of the following certifications is required:
• Pennsylvania public school Special Education teaching certificate; or
• Private academic teaching certificate; or
• Private academic temporary approval certificate

Work Experience:
Minimum of six months experience working with children with behavior/learning disorders.

Clinical Supervisor

New Story is currently accepting resumes for the position of Clinical Supervisor.

The Clinical Supervisor oversees behavior plan development in accordance with the Individual Education Plans (IEP) and provides direction on behavior interventions/ management to staff within the classroom setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in education or human services field
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
• Two years’ experience working in a clinical capacity providing services to children diagnosed with Autism or Autism-related disorders using ABA theories and philosophies.
